A MEDIEVAL TOUR & GRAND FEAST AT MAIKRAHV

There’s always a reason to celebrate – in the Medieval times and today!
One of the most important festive traditions in medieval Tallinn, aside from Christmas, was the summer Pentecost celebration – marked by the ceremonial election of the Maikrahv.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 – 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐧’𝐬 𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐯!
On this tour, we’ll take a closer look at the brighter side of medieval city life, exploring the traditions and festivities that brought people together in celebration.
Even better – 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭, 𝐰𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨 – the experience concludes with a medieval-style feast at Restaurant Maikrahv, located right on the historic Town Hall Square.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐕ä𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐯ä𝐫𝐚𝐯 (𝟑𝟕 𝐔𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭), where convenient parking is available for those arriving by car.
The walk begins at 𝟏𝟖:𝟎𝟎 and lasts approximately 1.5 hours, covering 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟑–𝟒 𝐤𝐦 through Tallinn’s Old Town. At 𝟏𝟗:𝟑𝟎, we gather for a 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥-𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 at Maikrahv!
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥-𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐰𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 roast beef and mango salad, salmon rolls with herb cottage cheese, fresh salads, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and pearl onions.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 royal pork knuckle, grilled chicken in red wine sauce à la Alderman, oven-roasted herb potatoes and vegetable stew.
𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭: Crème brûlée with berry sauce and pear stewed in cinnamon syrup.
